Rotated and GFM Discontinuity Flagging

  • The Weno-TCD method used a problem depend flagging criterion, specified in the local problem src/ directory "cles_dcflag_curv2d.f" function. For this specific DMR problem, the amroc/weno/src/equations/cles_dcflag_curv2d.f was modified. Specifically, the pressure curvature, controlled by, CurvThressholdP = pcurv, was used and the density curvature was disregarded. The reasoning for using only a pressure based criterion is that for a simplified analysis, the pressures above and below the slipline are exactly the same. In this problem, unsteady phenomenon, viscosity, and conductivity cause a more complex pressure field, and thus using a pressure criterion yields a variable degree of method control around the slipline. By increasing the value of "pcurv" in the simulation, more or less TCD is used around the slipline and other smooth flow regions.
  • Also, in order to enhance the stability of the computation, the ghost cells near the bottom boundary boundary were flagged to be computed with the WENO method. Also, For the GFM problem, all cells within the Ramp were computed with WENO.
